3 Midfielders Picks for your FPL Gameweek 7

FPL returns to action with another exciting game week. Premier League action this week has some spicy matchups for us. We have got Manchester City facing up against Spurs and Arsenal against Everton.

With few regulars like Salah going blank for weeks many fpl managers are a bit confused as to whom to go in the all-important department of their team midfield.

Midfield is another crucial position in FPL. Many times it is the midfield that can decide your rank and your performance in an FPL game week. Midfielders play a dual role; they can score goals and also can assist goals. At times some midfielders are assigned penalty duties which means most of the time guaranteed goals and points.

The managers are getting ready for their teams as the FPL deadline draws near. It’s vital to keep in mind that rotation is a possibility despite all the news regarding potential rotations and injuries. This season has given us a multitude of midfield choices. We’ve chosen some of the best midfield options available at various pricing points.

3 Midfielders Picks for FPL Gameweek 7

1. Jack Harrison (Leeds United)

Jack Harrison has had a fantastic start to the year. So far this season, he has one goal and three assists. Harrison has an xG of 0.91 and an xA of 2.36 after creating 18 chances. Among the midfielders for Leeds United, he has the greatest xG and xA.

As they host Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 7, Leeds has one of their more favorable scheduled matches of the year. With 14 goals allowed and an xGC of 13.1, Forest has some of the poorest defensive statistics in the league.

Leeds, however, has an xG of 9.87 and has scored 10 goals, making this matchup ideal for the Whites’ assault. He also has the most anticipated goal involvement (xGI) among Leeds players right now.

With 16 goals and 11 assists over his previous two seasons, Harrison has established himself as a valuable FPL asset. He seems to be the most trustworthy option from their midfield since he has the potential to score and provide an assist and is also on corners and free-kicks. Therefore, FPL managers must put their money on him and include him in the squad.

2. GABRIEL MARTINELLI (Arsenal)

Arsenal so far this season except for their blip against Manchester United the last game week has been excellent. Arsenal has a young and talented squad who perform well under Arteta.

Gabriel Martinelli has been Arsenal’s mainstay. He has scored three goals and one assist so far and is a great value option. He has registered an xG of 2.77 and an xA of 2.26. Gabriel Martinelli averages 6 points per match in this FPL season. He Ranks 1st in attacking threat and 2nd in ICT rank among midfielders.

With Arsenal facing struggling Everton who is defensively shaky and is leaking goals. Toffees have conceded 6 goals so far and have looked out of color. Arsenal on other hand has been brilliant in the final third. Arsenal has scored 14 goals so far in 6 games.

Thus with Arsenal up against Everton, we expect Gabriel Martinelli to either score or assist in the game. So FPL managers can consider him as their midfield option especially considering his value which is under 7.0m.

3. Kevin De Bruyne (Manchester City)

Kevin De Bruyne has been at his usual best. KDB is just brilliant. He is the heart of Manchester City’s midfield. KDB is the creator and supplier of Manchester attackers. He Ranks 1st in creativity and 3rd in overall ICT rank for midfielders. KDB averages a healthy 6 points per game week and has the certainty of guaranteed return.

Kevin De Bruyne has so far in 6 games scored once and has assisted 4 times. In terms of FPL, KDB has accumulated 35 points so far in 6 games. Overall spelling KDB and Haaland combo has become a go-to combination for most FPL managers. With Manchester City facing Spurs, we expect a highly competitive game and KDB will greatly impact the outcome.
