Arsenal Leading the Race to Sign Youri Tielemans

English Premier League giants Arsenal are currently in the pole position to sign Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans from Leicester City.

Youri Tielemans started his football at the academy of the Belgian club Anderlecht. The midfielder then rose through the ranks and signed his first senior team contract aged 26. He stayed four seasons with the senior team of Anderlecht and appeared in 185 matches.

The midfielder then joined French Ligue 1 club Monaco on a five-year deal. However, in Monaco, he failed to reach the consistency of Anderlecvht days. As a result, he was loaned out to the English Premier League club Leicester City.

Upon joining Leicester, Tielemans finally found his form back. His contract was then converted into a permanent deal. Tielemans established himself as a starter in the Leicester lineup. He helped the Foxes to win their first-ever FA cup and scored the winning goal in the final. The Belgian is currently one of the biggest assets of the club.

According to the English outlet Mirror, the English premier league against Arsenal are at the top position for signing Belgian midfielder Youri Tielemans in the next summer transfer window.

Under Mikel Arteta, Arsenal have rebuilt their squad. The Gunners have got a great start to the English Premier league. They have won nine out of their first eleven matches. Arsenal are currently in the second position in the table with twenty-eight points from eleven matches.

However, Arsenal management knows they still need a lot of players in the next few windows to complete their squad. At 25, Youri Tielemans at the prime of his game. The midfielder has only one year left in his contract and will be a free agent the next summer. hence Arsenal got interested in him.

The Gunners tried to sign the midfielder in the last transfer window too. But Tielemans decided to stay at Leicester for one year. Later the midfielder admitted that his decision to complete his contract was the best one he could have taken.

However now at this moment, things are totally different. Leicester City have got a very poor start to their campaign. The Foxes have got only eleven points from the first thirteen matches and are in the eighteenth position in the table.

It is looking very tough for them to save against relegation at the moment. As a result, Tielemans is n to interested to renew his contract further. However, signing him will not be very easy for Arsenal.

English Premier League teams like Manchester United are keeping tabs on the midfielder. Then there are the Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona who want to rope in the midfielder. Serie-A club Juventus are also monitoring him. So if Arsenal wants to sign the midfielder they will have to move fast for him.

The Gunners will play against Nottingham Forest in their next match.
