Barcelona news: The Blaugrana have been linked with signing AS Monaco defender Vanderson.
Vanderson joined the French club for €11 million from Gremio in the January transfer window of 2022. He has played 33 games in all competitions for Monaco so far, registering two goals and three assists.
His performances at the Louis II Stadium caught the attention of numerous top clubs across Europe. The Blaugrana had already tried to sign him during the recently concluded transfer window but a move failed to materialize.
However, they continue to monitor his progress and are likely to make another approach to sign him in the future.

According to reports, Barcelona is interested in bringing right-back Vanderson to Camp Nou.
The right-back is one of the positions Xavi is still trying to improve in his squad following the departure of Dani Alves and Sergino Dest last summer. The Spanish manager only has loanee Hector Bellerin as a senior right-back option in his squad.
He has identified Vanderson as among the options to bolster the position. However, they are likely to face competition from Manchester United, who have also shown interest in signing him.
Moreover, Monaco is demanding a transfer fee of close to £60 million to sell the Brazilian. It remains to be seen if the Spanish club is willing to pay that sum to bring the 21-year-old defender to Camp Nou.
What will Vanderson bring to Camp Nou?
Vanderson is a modern-day full-back who contributes heavily in both attack and defense. His key strengths are his dribbling and tackling skills, along with his passing.
The Brazillian defender has played seven league games this season, averaging 2.7 tackles, 1.4 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, and 0.7 dribbles per 90 in the league. Apart from that, he has completed 83.1 percent of his passes in the French top division.
