Chelsea News: Thomas Tuchel came down hard on his own supporters after his side’s 4-0 victory against Burnley. The Chelsea supporters made themselves heard with Roman Abramovich chants while both teams applauded in keeping with the Premier League’s stand for Ukraine.
The current Russia-Ukraine conflict has been hard for the Blues supporters in its own way. Roman Abramovich has decided to sell the club, after his links with Russian President, Vladimir Putin emerged following the attack.
Tuchel did not see eye to eye with his fans, following their actions, calling them out in his press conference. It showed great confidence from the German manager, as he risked irking his own set of fans against him.
Former Manchester United skipper turned football pundit, Gary Neville praised the Chelsea coach for his stance. Neville reached out on his official Twitter account to compliment the manager and wrote, “He’s a good bloke Tuchel.”

Thomas Tuchel showed a different side to himself while calling out the fans. The German manager has largely remained coy on the ownership situation at the club.
He recently took offense in a press conference, when the reporters threw a barrage of questions at him regarding the war and his Russian owner. However, he has maintained that he does have a good relationship with the current owner. Tuchel made it clear that his future does not depend on the ownership situation at the club.
Tuchel said, “You have to stop, I am not a politician. I can only repeat myself, and I feel bad to repeat it as I never experienced war. So even to talk about it, I feel bad.”
“I’m very privileged as I sit here in peace. I do the best I can but you have to stop asking me these questions as I have no answers for you.”
The Blues are on a 3 match unbeaten run in the Premier League
Despite the tumultuous time the club is going through off the pitch, Tuchel can be proud of the football they are playing at the moment.
After their Carabao Cup final defeat against Liverpool, which came in penalties last week, they have bounced back very well. They picked up a crucial 3-2 comeback victory against Luton Town in the FA Cup to secure their place in the quarter-finals of the Cup.
In the Premier League, Chelsea secured the massive victory against Burnley at Turf Moor. Kai Havertz, Reece James, and Christian Pulisic all found the back of the net as they turned on the heat in the second half.
Despite being out of the Premier League race, they can still win the Champions League and the FA Cup. In Europe, they are perfectly poised to advance to the quarter-finals, as they hold a 2-0 advantage over Lille. The Blues take on Norwich City in their next Premier League encounter on the 11th of March.
