IND vs NZ: In the third and last Twenty20 International, played at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, India defeated New Zealand by continuously improving to win the series. The Men in Blue recorded their largest T20I victory ever on Wednesday (February 1) with a commanding score of 168 runs.
India reached a massive total of 234/4 in their 20 overs thanks to a magnificent century from Shubman Gill and some excellent guest appearances from the middle-order batters. The Kiwis simply didn’t show up in response, as the hosts were excellent with the ball and on the ground.
The guests were recently dismissed for 66 in what was an utterly overpowering performance by the hosts.
On that comment, let’s examine three game-related incidents that caused a stir on social media.

3. Rahul Tripathi’s incredible scoop shot Moment
Fans lauded Rahul Tripathi for setting a phenomenal foundation for the other hitters to follow in contrast to Shubman Gill for his magnificent 126. In the second over of the match, the Indians lost Ishan Kishan. But Tripathi came out firing and produced some fantastic smashes.
One such shot came off the bowling of Lockie Ferguson, as Tripathi simply crossed his stumps and scooped a 148 kph delivery over the head of the fine leg for a six. Gill was able to take his moment. He refrains from taking too many new risks. And rotates the strike thanks to his brilliant 44 from just 22 balls.
2. Shubman Gill’s acceleration
Some individuals argue that Shubman Gill was perfectly adapted to the longer formats before the series against New Zealand. The Indian batsman, though, disproved his detractors on Wednesday in Ahmedabad with an incredible knock.
After India had sacrificed both Rahul Tripathi and Suryakumar Yadav, Gill reached his fifty off 35 balls. He had to change up his strategy. And he did so with flair by scoring his next 50 runs off only 19 balls. The child launched an assault, sparing none of the opposing bowlers in the process.
His wrist-driven sixes over deep mid-wicket further demonstrated the type of form he is in. He was able to score 126 runs at a 200-scoring rate because of this speed. It also put his detractors to rest.
1. Suryakumar Yadav’s screamers in the slip cordon
Vice-captain of India Suryakumar Yadav was in the slip cordon while Gill was off the field.
As they readied to pursue 235, the guests hoped that Finn Allen would get going and continue to score. That was not to be, though, as Yadav made a superb catch in the slips in the opening over with a perfectly timed leap.
Within a few overs, he made a practically identical catch. He jumped through into the air. And snagging the ball to dismiss Glenn Phillips from the crease. Any dreams of a Kiwi chase were inevitably dashed by these blasts.
