BAN vs IND: Bangladesh and India are up against each other in the second Test at Dhaka. The first Test was won by the Indian team in a convincing manner. They would look to secure a victory in this fixture to stake a claim for the top two WTC spots.
Bangladesh batted first and managed to get a good start, with the top contribution of 77 from Mominul Haque (85). However, their lower middle order fell like a pack of cards during the last session of Day 1. As a result, the Tigers posted 227 on the board.
Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin accounted for four wickets each for the Indian cricket team, while Jaydev Unadkat bagged four wickets. Interestingly, it was Unadkat’s first test after a gap of 12 years.
In response to the score, India lost KL Rahul (10) and Shubman Gill (20) early. Both became a victim of Tajiul Islam in a leg-before dismissal. Afterward, Cheteshwar Pujara (24) and Virat Kohli (24) could not convert their starts. At the time of writing the article, India were at 124/4, with Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer at the crease.

The incident happened in the first session of Day 2, with Virat Kohli and Pant in the middle. Kohli pushed for a single just before the lunch session of Mehidy Hasan’s delivery.
Virat Kohli immediately called for a single and reached mid-way in the pitch, but Pant denied a single. As a result, Kohli had to endure a run-out scare and dived to reach the crease at the right time.
After Kohli reached the crease, he looked at Pant in agony, for his decision. However, both batters gave each other a fist pump as they walked toward the dressing room for lunch.
