ILT20: The inaugural edition of the competition has already produced thrilling moments. Also, it has helped the scouts cherry-pick some new stars.
Likewise, it was seen in the third game of the DP World International League T20 game which was held on 15th January (Sunday). Gulf Giants defeated Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in their first game of the new competition. Meanwhile, it was the latter’s second game, and having lost the first game ADKR supporters hoped for a stronger reply from their side than what they saw.
While the Knight Riders won the toss and elected to bat first. None of their batters were able to reach the 30-run mark! It was quite a bowling exhibition from the GG bowlers, but one can say equally horrendous batting performance.
The game never shifted in the home side’s favor. From the start to the finish, the Gulf Giants dominated this ILT20 match. Additionally, they might already have a fierce bowling department in the Tournament.
Sanchit Sharma, the 21-year-old UAE Player, stole the show with his highlight performance in his debut ILT20 game for the Gulf Giants.
ILT20: Sanchit Sharma Sends Shivers Down the Spine of the Batsmen
With blockbuster figures of 3-9(3), Sanchit Sharma brought heat waves with him to the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. There were little to no miscued deliveries from the youngster. Sharma hit perfect lines and lengths throughout the spell of his 3 overs and picked up 3 crucial wickets to stop the opposition from setting a humongous total.
Performances like these are hard to come by, but it seems that Sanchit Sharma knew what he was doing and reaped the reward.

“So the perfect debut?” The presenter asked Sanchit Sharma when the player went to collect the Cash Prize and the Player of the match award.
The young Indian-born all-rounder made his T20I debut for the UAE National Cricket Team, on 7 October 2021. It was against Ireland, and Sharma was just 20 at the time.
“Almost, but not quite. If I’d had a fourth over, it could have been much better,” Sharma jokingly added. “I am really happy. It was the dream start. Three wickets really set the game up for us.”
Furthermore, this result meant that the Gulf Giants start their ILT20 campaign with a convincing victory. But as for Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, it’s going back to basics and starting from scratch again.
