Nitish Rana fined INR 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over-rate in the KKR vs PBKS. In the game of cricket, maintaining a slow over-rate is indeed a violation of the rules.
As a result, it could lead to penalties for the team. The over-rate typically refers to the number of overs bowled each hour. The team is expected to bowl required overs in a stipulated period of time.
If the team fails to do so, then they should pay the price. Since it was KKR’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s code of conduct, Rana was fined Rs 12 lakh.

“Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
“As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Rana was fined Rs. 12 lakh,” the statement from IPL read.
After securing a win over Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders climbed to the fifth spot. Having played 11 games so far, KKR won five games and lost six games.
The two-time IPL champions will lock horns with Rajasthan Royals in the next game on May 11, Thursday. The game will kick off at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
