Sri Lanka’s finest spinner for quite some time, Wanindu Hasaranga believes Lanka Premier League has made him a better captain. Hasaranga is the most reliable spinner to come out of the Sri Lanka cricket team after Muttiah Muralitharan and Rangana Herath. His consistency in terms of wicket-taking abilities is second to none at present.
Despite going for runs, Wanindu Hasaranga’s speciality is to keep going for wickets and carry on with his attacking mindset. As a result, Sri Lanka have found success based on his performances in the last few years.
The Asia Cup 2022 witnessed Hasaranga taking nine wickets in six games and helping the Lions to lift the title. In fact, the right-arm spinner emerged as the leading wicket-taker in the T20 World Cup 2022 as well.
In terms of Lanka Premier League performances as well. he is the top bowler with 37 wickets in 27 matches. He is leading the Kandy Falcons team in the LPL for the last three editions.

“Hopefully, we can go all the way”: Wanindu Hasaranga wants to lift the Lanka Premier League title
At present, Wanindu Hasaranga-led side are at the pole position in the Lanka Premier League 2022 table. They have secured five wins in six league matches and are confirmed to be qualifying for playoffs.
In this regard, Sri Lanka’s ace spinner Wanindu Hasaranga thinks he has learned to be calm in every situation. He also added that experience in the last two years has helped him to be optimistic and expressed his wish to lift the Lanka Premier League title.
“As a captain, I must be calm in every situation. Must give my best in every game so that players also give theirs.For the last two years, the team has been finishing last but this year, we are on top of the table, but we are not thinking ahead as of now. We are just taking it step by step and hopefully, we can go all the way.”

Kandy Falcons mentor Sanath Jayasuriya thinks Wanindu Hasaranga has inspired the youngster generations. He also thinks the spinner is always ready to help the budding players, which is helping the team positively.
Lanka Premier League 2022 leading wicket-taker Carlos Brathwaite also echoed the same words for his captain, Hasaranga. He thinks the 25-year-old has a winning mentality, which lifts the spirit of the players.
