Mumbai Indian Bowling Coach: Lasith Malinga, the great Sri Lankan fast bowler, has been named as the Mumbai Indians fast bowling coach for the IPL 2024 season. He will take over for the successful coach Shane Bond.
Malinga, recognised for his unique bowling style and ability to pick wickets at vital times, provides a wealth of experience and understanding to the club. He understands the dynamics of the team and its players being a former Mumbai Indians player. His presence and expertise would surely aid the Mumbai Indians’ fast bowlers as they strive for another successful IPL season.
MI has had trouble the past three seasons despite being the joint-most successful squad in IPL history. MI didn’t make the playoffs in 2021 or 2022 despite being ousted in the second Qualifier last year.
While injuries have contributed to their recent troubles, the team also saw the need to make some changes to their personnel, with the arrival of Malinga possibly serving as the beginning point. The former Sri Lanka pacer is one of the best white-ball bowlers, and in 2014, he led Sri Lanka to the T20 World Cup championship.
