The five-match T20 series started with Pakistan winning the first two matches comfortably, with margins of 88 and 38 runs, at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
However, The visitors managed to win the third T20I by four runs, and during the fourth T20I, they were in a good position with a score of 164-5 in 18.5 overs before a hailstorm resulted in the match being abandoned.

In the final T20I, the Kiwis won the toss and chose to field first on a seemingly flat Rawalpindi pitch. Led by wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan’s unbeaten 98 off just 62 balls, the hosts managed to put up an impressive score of 193-5 in their allotted 20 overs.
New Zealand started their chase with a shaky performance and were at 73-4 in 9.5 overs, as the Pakistani bowlers put in a strong effort. However, to the disappointment of both the home team and the fans, Mark Chapman and James Neesham formed an unbroken partnership of 121 runs from 57 balls.
The partnership led the visitors to a six-wicket win in the final over of the innings. Chapman’s sensational unbeaten knock of 104 runs off 57 balls, which included 11 fours and four sixes, was the highlight of the chase.
