Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma praised Akash Madhwal for his match-winning bowling spell in the MI vs LSG Eliminator clash.
The epic encounter took place at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. Both teams gave their best in the battle in an attempt to proceed to the next stage.
However, Mumbai Indians had the last laugh in the battle. They were head and shoulders above Lucknow Super Giants across aspects. As a result, they went on to defeat Lucknow Super Giants by a massive margin of 81 runs.
Rohit Sharma praised Akash Madhwal for the way he applied tricks and trade in a crucial encounter when it mattered the most.

It is worth mentioning here that he took five wickets in 3.3 overs. Moreover, he maintained a brilliant economy rate of 1.40. Rightly so, he was adjudged the Man of the Match for his spellbound performance.

Akash Madhwal received his first Man of the Match award in IPL. He couldn’t be any happier after contributing to the team with a spectacular bowling performance.
At the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma praised Akash Madhwal. “He (Akash Madhwal) was part of the team last year as a support bowler, and once Jofra was gone and I knew he had the skills and the character to do the job for us.” Rohit Sharma added.
“Over the years we have seen many guys coming in from Mumbai Indians and playing for India,” Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma said after the team’s surreal win over LSG.
“It is important to make them (youngsters) feel special and make them feel part of the team, my job is to just make them comfortable in the middle. They are very clear in their roles about what they need to do for the team and that’s what you want,” Rohit further added.
Mumbai Indians have passed this challenge and they have a tough task up ahead. They will lock horns with Gujarat Titans in the Second Qualifier.
The match will kick off on May 26, Friday at the world’s largest cricket stadium, Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
