Valorant: Riot Games to Launch New Squad Boost Event in the Upcoming Week

Valorant announced its Patch 5.12 this week, and it has left fans excited for more. The game developers also revealed their latest new squad XP boost event. Gamers can take part in this special event from Wednesday, Dec 14, until Jan 4, 2023.

This contest will help players speed past the remaining stages of the Act Three battle pass, Episode Five. Gamers are awarded the Starlit Odyssey Ghost skin, the Iridian Thorn Operator skin, and the melee blade at the end of these levels.

Under this event, players get the chance to earn bonus XP by playing Valorant with friends and family. Duos get up to eight percent extra XP, trios up to 12 percent, and groups of four up to 16 percent. But that’s not it. A party of a full five gets a maximum of 20 percent XP boost.

This is a good way of bringing back your old friends to play the game. Besides earning extra XP, there’s a lot more in the basket. Gamers can enjoy the new agent balance changes, including a number of Chamber upgrades. Valorant has also introduced bets for Swiftplay, a brand new concise variant for people with fewer hours in a day.

Jan 4 marks the end of Episode Five, Act Three, which means we begin with a new episode on the same day. That is when the XP boost event ends too. Apparently, Bind and Breeze will be removed with the introduction of a new map. This addition will take place with the commencement of Episode Six.

Valorant launches Swiftplay

Some people do not have enough time in their schedule to play an entire game of competitive or even unrated VALORANT. To accommodate these players, the creators of the game have rolled out a new game mode- Swift play. Players can have fun with this shorter format alongside Spike Rush. This mode was released with the latest Patch 5.12 update.

Officially integrated into the game on Dec 6, this game mode is a shortened form of the original unrated gameplay. Along with having the usual Valorant unrated game features, it only takes around 15 minutes to play this mode.

There are two four-round halves in the game, and the first team to reach five rounds before the other is declared the winner. Unlike Spike Rush, weapons and credits are carried over between rounds. Also, only one player can carry spikes. Gamers get a certain amount of credits at the beginning of each round:

  • First round- 800 credits
  • Second round- 2400 credits
  • Third round-4250 credits
  • Fourth round-4250 credits

However, the team that secures victory in the pistol round gains an extra 600 credit bonus to start the next round. Additionally, the typical bonuses (kill- 200 credits and spike plants- 300 credits) continue to be rewarded. Moreover, two ultimate points are also given to all the players. Finally, one can expect a single sudden death round over time.

Swiftplay remains accessible only till Jan 10, 2023. It is important to realise that the mode is still a beta. It is not a finished output. The Valorant mode can undergo several number of changes, depending on the feedback given by players. Swiftplay does not include ranked play. Hence, players can continue their progress in any active missions alongside Swift play.
