Christian Horner, the team’s manager, was ecstatic with his team’s victory in the last race of the year in Abu Dhabi.
Max Verstappen, a two-time world champion, took the lead and maintained it, with teammate Sergio Perez coming in third.
Horner, who was pleased with his team’s achievements, told Sky Sports that it was difficult to witness his team’s difficulties since 2014 (when regulations changed), while Mercedes continued to dominate the championships.
The head of Red Bull said: “He experienced suffering. With the new rules in 2014, we had nowhere to go. We never gave up hope. Thoughts dropped from people, but you need to maintain your attention on the subject. Everyone has remained intent on the task of regaining the upper hand.”
“We accomplished it the previous year, and this year we went even further. It takes commitment and faith to win back the constructors title after eight really tough years.”
The Red Bull team manager attributed the squad’s performance in 2022 to the team’s ability to work together to achieve success.
He remarked: “A year indeed! The team has had a fantastic year. the tireless effort put out by everyone who works behind the scenes yet is invisible. It’s been enormous. While there have been hiccups along the road, our accomplishments so far have eclipsed anything we could have dreamed, believed, or accomplished on our own.”
Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz passed away this year, and Horner dedicated the title to him. Verstappen contributed 429 of Red Bull’s 759 total points, setting a new record.
Max Verstappen anticipates a difficult test for Red Bull in 2023
Max Verstappen, a two-time world champion for Red Bull, predicted that the battle will be tougher the next year as teams had a better understanding of the rules.
He remarked: “Yes, I believe it will be closer. More people are gaining knowledge of automobiles. And indeed, all the teams will gradually become closer to one another. However, it has been a pretty good weekend for us. That’s obviously quite optimistic for the next year.”
He went on: “But now that we know this, we also recognize that during the winter, we really need to keep working to improve performance and not just performance, but understanding as well as perhaps even the tyres even more, as the tyres will change slightly for next year. So let’s see how we’re going to handle everything.”
The German squad completely dominated the 2022 season, and they want to do so again in the next campaign.
