Arsenal transfer news: The Gunners could look to sign out-of-favour Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips in the January transfer window, according to reports.
Kalvin Phillips has struggled for game time at Manchester City in the current campaign. The 27-year-old English midfielder has only had 167 minutes of game time at Manchester City so far this season. 90 minutes of those came in Manchester City’s EFL Cup defeat at the hands of Newcastle United.
In the Premier League, Kalvin Phillips has featured in just three games, during which he had 70 minutes of action, so far this season.
Despite the absence of Rodri, who is serving a three-game suspension, in the Premier League games against Wolves and Arsenal, Pep Guardiola overlooked Kalvin Phillips in the starting XI. That may be an indication that Phillips has fallen further down the pecking order at the Premier League side.

Arsenal transfer news: Gunners reportedly keen on signing Kalvin Phillips in January transfer window
In the latest Arsenal transfer news, the Gunners are keen on signing Kalvin Phillips during the January transfer window, according to reports from Spain, as cited by Caught Offside.
Meanwhile, ESPN recently reported that Kalvin Phillips is considering his options to leave Manchester City in the January transfer window. Phillips decided to stay at Manchester City and fight for his place over the last summer but the report says the player is losing faith he will ever be a regular at the club.
The lack of game time at club level could put his place in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for EURO 2024 under doubt. He is currently on international duty with England for their games against Australia and Italy.
Kalvin Phillips featured for England against Australia, coming on as a substitute in the 62nd minute of their 1-0 friendly win.
It remains to be seen what decision the midfielder will take: whether to continue fighting for his place at Manchester City or leave the club in the January transfer window or in the summer.
Meanwhile, Manchester City sits third in the Premier League points table with 18 points from eight matches. They are two points table-toppers Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal, the club he has now been linked with.
