Bayern Munich were considering parting ways with Sadio Mane after the Senegalese attacker allegedly punched his club teammate Leroy Sane in the dressing room following their defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.
Manchester City cruised to a 3-0 win over Bayern Munich in the first leg to take control of this Champions League quarter-final tie. Goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Erling Haaland saw Manchester City get the better of the German behemoths.
Sadio Mane, who came on as a substitute in the 69th minute of the game, allegedly punched Leroy Sane in the face in the dressing room after the humbling they received at the hands of Manchester City.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg tweeted earlier this day that Bayern Munich were considering parting ways with Sadio Mane following the incident.

Sadio Mane was suspended by Bayern Munich from the upcoming Bundesliga game vs 1899 Hoffenheim
Bayern Munich have since issued an official update, suspending Sadio Mane from their upcoming Bundesliga game against 1899 Hoffenheim. The Senegalese attacker will also be fined, Bayern Munich confirmed in their update.
It is not clear whether Bayern Munich have suspended Sadio Mane for one game or indefinitely for his misconduct after their defeat to Manchester City in the Champions League quarter-final first leg.
“Sadio Mané, 31, will not be included in the FC Bayern squad for this Saturday’s home match against 1899 Hoffenheim. This is due to his misconduct after Bayern’s Champions League match at Manchester City. Mané will also be given a fine,” Bayern Munich said in a statement released on their official website.
It remains to be seen if Bayern Munich will take any further actions on Sadio Mane and whether they would part ways with the former Liverpool attacker in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich, who are the defending Bundesliga champions, are leading the race to win the league title this season. They enjoy a two-point lead over arch-rivals Borussia Dortmund, who occupy the second place in the points table.
Bayern Munich have 58 points from 27 matches in the Bundesliga so far this season while Borussia Dortmund have 56 points from 27 matches.
Meanwhile, the match between Bayern Munich and 1899 Hoffenheim will kick off at 7:00 pm Indian Standard Time on April 15.
