He has been linked with a sensational move to Saudi club Al Ittihad. The Saudi club are willing to offer him a €200 million-a-year contract. While some have suggested that he will stay at the club next season. However, the situation is still unclear.
In the midst of all the Benzema transfer news, it has been reported that Real Madrid have identified a replacement for the Frenchman. According to the Athletic, Los Blancos have identified Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez as a replacement for the Frenchman.
The Argentinian was a part of Argentina’s World Cup-winning squad in Qatar. He also scored a crucial goal in the semi-final against AC Milan in the Champions League semi-final. This season the Inter Milan striker has scored 28 goals in all competitions as well.

Earlier this season, Benzema was believed to sign a contract extension with the club. He and Luka Modric and Toni Kross’s contracts with the club were expiring at the end of the season.
Kross and Modric have signed a one-year contract extension. Benzema is yet to commit his future to Los Blancos. Real Madrid were not expecting to sign a new striker for the new season. But recently Al Ittihad made him a big offer. It is believed that the Frenchman is considering accepting the offer.
Although it is not certain whether he will accept the move or not. He recently posted a cryptic message on his Instagram as well. In his story, he was quoted as saying that the internet is not the real world.
While this Benzema transfer news is not good for Real Madrid. Los Blancos were hoping to spend big on Jude Bellingham this season. However, with Benzema also leaving Real Madrid will need a new striker.
Real Madrid’s New striker
Apart from Lautaro Martinez, the likes of Victor Oshmein and Harry Kane are also targets for Los Blancos. However, it will be difficult to praise away either of them. Tottenham Hotspur have always proven to be difficult to negotiate with.
Napoli are also challenging to negotiate with just like Tottenham Hotspur. Also with the Serie A title to defend, Naples will be unlikely to allow Oshmein to leave next season. Thus Lautaro Martinez seems to be the only viable target.
However, the difficulty for Los Blancos is that with this Benzema transfer news, they might be short of an attacker next season. They will have to spend big to fill that void. Even Martinez will be an expensive acquisition.
