Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has said that their upcoming La Liga game against Real Sociedad will be tough.
Real Madrid will take on Real Sociedad in their next fixture in the Spanish top flight. Carlo Ancelotti and Co. head into the game on the back of an impressive 4-2 win over Almeria.
Real Madrid sits second in the La Liga table, 11 points behind table-toppers Barcelona. With just six games to go, Real Madrid, who are the defending champions, are unlikely to retain the La Liga title.
Real Sociedad, meanwhile, sit fourth in the La Liga table with 58 points from 32 matches. They come into the game on the back of their 2-0 win over Osasuna, who Real Madrid will face in the Copa del Rey final this weekend.

Carlo Ancelotti: Tomorrow it will be demanding because Real Sociedad is a great team
Speaking ahead of Real Madrid’s La Liga game against Real Sociedad, Carlo Ancelotti said [via Madrid Universal]: “Tomorrow it will be demanding, because Real Sociedad is a great team. There are casualties for injuries and penalties, so it will be tough. The schedule is also complicated, but let’s go with all the desire in the world.”
Carlo Ancelotti was also asked if Real Madrid needed a new Karim Benzema in the summer transfer window. To that, Ancelotti replied: “In the project, we must be signing a number nine, because Karim has an age. But he works very well, despite the ups and downs. Rodrygo, Vinicius, Asensio… the problem in these two years has not been the attack.”
Carlo Ancelotti also confirmed Karim Benzema could be rested for their match against Real Sociedad. He said: “It may be. He was a little tired today, but if he’s okay, he can play. Tomorrow I will only rotate for obvious casualties; if we play at 10:00 PM, there is the recovery time for Saturday.”
Carlo Ancelotti also praised Barcelona, who are the outright favourites to win the La Liga title this season: “I always point out the merit of the rival. Barcelona has scored a lot of points and has merit.”
Meanwhile, the La Liga match between Real Madrid and Real Sociedad will kick off at 1:30 am Indian Standard Time on May 3. Real Madrid will be aiming to earn a victory and maintain their two-point lead over third-placed Atletico Madrid.
