Cody Gakpo on his performance on his debut match for Liverpool

Cody Gakpo said he had ‘some good moments’ and ‘some sloppy moments’ on his debut for Liverpool. The Netherlands international, who Liverpool signed in the January transfer window, made his debut for the Merseyside outfit when they faced Wolves in an FA Cup third-round fixture.

Cody Gakpo made it to the Liverpool starting XI for the clash against Wolves, and the Netherlands national football team attacker featured for the Reds until the 84th minute, at which point Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain replaced him.

Cody Gakpo’s debut match for Liverpool ended in a stalemate as they and Wolves played out a 2-2 draw. That means Liverpool will have to play Wolves again in a replay of the same fixture.

Speaking after the match, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp provided an assessment of Cody Gakpo’s performance on his debut game for the Reds. Jurgen Klopp said Gakpo showed good signs but also admitted they need to get him in better positions.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will face Brighton in a Premier League fixture in their next game. The match between Brighton and Liverpool kicks off at 8:30 pm Indian Standard Time, on January 14.
