Erik ten Hag has said that he admires David Moyes for his bravery to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson as Manchester United manager.
David Moyes succeeded Sir Alex Ferguson as Manchester United’s manager after the latter retired as a manager at the end of the 2012/12 season. But Moyes, who became Manchester United’s manager in July 2013, lasted less than ten months at Old Trafford as the Red Devils sacked him in April 2014.
Meanwhile, Erik ten Hag became Manchester United manager after the end of the 21/22 campaign. The Red Devils have shown progress under Erik Ten Hag this season. Manchester United have already won the EFL Cup title, are in the FA Cup final, and aiming for a top-four finish in Premier League this season.
Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United will take on West Ham United, whose current manager is David Moyes, in their upcoming game in Premier League.

Erik ten Hag: I admire David Moyes because he had the bravery to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United
Speaking ahead of the upcoming West Ham United vs Manchester United clash, Erik ten Hag explained why he admires David Moyes.
When asked if it is easier to take up the role of Manchester United manager years after Sir Alex Ferguson left rather than replacing him, Erik ten Hag said [via Metro]: “It’s hypothetical, so you’ll never know.
“But it’s quite clear when you have to succeed Sir Alex that is a big challenge and that is a really difficult job to do.
“So, yeah, he did it, he had the bravery to do it, so that’s why I think I admire him that much. He’s also that long already with many clubs in the Premier League, so he’s a great manager with a lot of skills.
“I know my team has to be their best on Sunday. We have to play our maximum if we want to get the result we need, and that’s a win.”
Manchester United currently sit fourth in the Premier League points table. They have 63 points from 33 matches in the English top flight so far this season. Manchester United are two points behind third-placed Newcastle United.
The Red Devils are also only one point ahead of fifth-placed Liverpool, who have 62 points from 35 matches. Manchester United have to make use of the two games they have in hand over Liverpool to keep the Merseyside outfit at a safer distance.
