Speaking after Manchester United set up a FA Cup final clash with Manchester City, Erik ten Hag vowed to give everything to prevent their neighbours from winning a treble this season.

Erik Ten Hag said fans can rely on Manchester United to give their 100% to defeat Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

Erik ten Hag said: “I understand the feeling from the Man United fans about it. We will do everything to give them that. We will give everything, then it is everything. More than 100 percent you can’t do. The fans can rely on that.

We have proof that we could play (from a 2-1 win at Old Trafford). Then we have to play the perfect game. The key? I don’t tell you. I keep that for myself. We have to go again. First of all, you have to focus on different games, we have to be in the top four.

Meanwhile, Manchester United defeated Brighton & Hove Albion on penalties in the FA Cup semi-final. The game remained locked in a draw at the end of normal time and the extra time and headed into the penalty shootout. Brighton & Manchester United converted each of their first six penalties.

Solly March stepped up to take Brighton’s seventh penalty and missed it, while Victor Lindelof converted Manchester United’s seventh to send them into FA Cup final.
