Frank Lampard said it was an easy decision for him to return to Chelsea in the capacity of an interim manager until the end of the season.
Chelsea have already confirmed the appointment of Frank Lampard as their interim manager. The Blues appointed Lampard on a temporary basis after parting ways with Graham Potter following their 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa after the March international break.
Bruno Saltor was in charge of Chelsea for their goalless draw with Liverpool as the Stamford Bridge outfit continued their search for a new permanent manager to succeed Graham Potter.
Chelsea are reportedly planning to interview multiple candidates to become their next manager through an exhaustive process. The Blues then appointed Frank Lampard, who is a club legend and has also previously managed the side, as their interim manager until the end of the current campaign.

Frank Lampard: Easy Decision to Return to Chelsea
Frank Lampard said he is delighted to get the opportunity to return to Chelsea, and said it was an easy decision for him to take. Lampard was the Chelsea manager between July 2019 and January 2021.
“Easy decision for me, this is my club. I’m also a very practical person. I’ve been on a different path since I left Chelsea but to come back when I’ve been asked and come back with a belief I can help until the end of the season,” Frank Lampard said.
“Delighted to get the opportunity and I’m thankful. I’ve a good understanding of the squad, the training ground, the stadium and the fans and I’ll do my best.”
Frank Lampard also said he expects questions to be asked of whether he could become Chelsea’s permanent manager but insisted he has parked those thoughts to one side.
He said: “Roberto did an incredible job to stay on but that’s a different time in the club’s history. I expect those questions but what is important to me is to park it to one side and get on with the job.
“I was at the game on Tuesday, there’s a lot of a talent in the squad and I’m excited to work with them.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea currently sit 11th in the Premier League table and remain in contention for the Champions League title this season.
