Before this game, I had the previous week off. How was the process of training, relaxing, and recovering from the competition for the team? Before we played Odisha, we had a lot of people out with injuries, so I believe that game ended up being incredibly beneficial for us. If we were going to take a break between the previous game and this game, this would have been the time that would have benefited us the most.
By Friday, we should have a significant increase in the number of players available in key positions all over the field. Because of this, we have been able to put a significant amount of high-quality work into the players’ on-field training over the past week or two.

Not in that sense, no. In my opinion, whether it’s a game against a rival or a game in a local derby, it’s crucial to give your best effort to win each and every game you compete in. Certain players will be acquainted with the players, whether they were teammates or opponents of the players in the past.

I’m still learning about the players and the Hero ISL as a whole, including the criteria for playing in terms of standards, systems, surroundings, and other elements. I’ve said this multiple times, but it bears repeating: I’m still learning about these things. Our preseason was fantastic, and despite the severe heat in Kolkata, we played a 3-5-2 formation.
In the game against Odisha, we changed our formation to a back four and employed a new style, in which players moved up the field while receiving more supply and balls. As a result of this, I am gaining more knowledge about it. It is to our advantage to have a larger pool of players to choose from, but I cannot say with absolute certainty that over the next few weeks and months we will modify and adjust the system.
The numbers tell the story: we have players on our squad who are capable of not just scoring goals but also racking up a large number of assists. As a result, that is not a problem in and of itself; however, we need to improve at the top of the pitch and supply them with more.
Even if Ronaldo or Messi are playing for our team, if we don’t get the ball to them in the right areas and with the right pass, cross, or delivery, they won’t get the help and support they require to be successful. As a result, it is abundantly clear that we need to work on that as well, and we have dedicated a significant amount of effort to working on it.
