Pep Guardiola has warned his Manchester City players that Arsenal will not give up in the race for the Premier League title this season.
Manchester City cruised to an emphatic 4-1 win over Arsenal in their most recent Premier League fixture to cut short the Gunners’ lead at the top of the table to two points.
Manchester City have two games in hand over the Gunners and the destiny of the Premier League title is now in the hands of Pep Guardiola and co.
But Pep Guardiola has warned Manchester City that the title race is not over just yet, insisting that the six points at stake in the games they have in hand over the Gunners can only be earned if they win those matches.

“Arsenal will not give up” – Pep Guardiola sends Premier League title warning to Manchester City
“I know Mikel [Arteta] perfectly and the players know that Arsenal will not give up. One of the real prizes [for Arsenal] is done – getting to the Champions League next season. They will not give up,” Pep Guardiola told reporters [via GOAL].
“When we are 10 points clear I will say it is almost over but the reality today is we’re two points behind. We have two games [in hand] but we have to be respectful for the teams we play – West Ham and Brighton – and we have to beat them.”
Arsenal dropped seven points in their last four games in the Premier League. Pep Guardiola has warned his Manchester City side that the same could happen to them.
He said: “I said to the players: What happened to Arsenal in the last games – three draws, one defeat – can happen to us. It’s impossible? No, my friends, it can be possible. You can drop points in one week. We have to be aware of that and then it will be easier for us not to drop points.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal continue to sit atop the Premier League table. The Gunners have 75 points from 33 matches in the English top flight so far this season. Manchester City, meanwhile, have 73 points from 31 games in the Premier League in the current campaign.
Manchester City will square off with Fulham in their next game in the Premier League. The match between the two sides will kick off at 6:30 pm Indian Standard Time on April 30.
