Ecuador centre-back Piero Hincapié renewed his contract with Bayer Leverkusen, with the new deal set to run until 2027. His previous contract with the Bundesliga outfit was due to expire at the end of June 2026.
The new contract the 21-year-old has signed with Bayer Leverkusen, however, does not include a release clause, according to Fabrizio Romano.
A number of clubs, including Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, remain keen on signing the highly-rated young defender in the upcoming summer transfer window, Fabrizio Romano reports.
However, since there is no release clause inserted in Piero Hincapié’s contract, Bayer Leverkusen will decide the price. Tottenham Hotspur had, according to 90min, enquired about the availability of the Bayer Leverkusen defender in the 2023 January transfer window. However, Bayer Leverkusen were not willing to sell one of their most prized assets midway through the season. They also valued the defender at €75m, a figure Tottenham Hotspur were not willing to meet.
