Neymar Jr suffered an injury in Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) win over LOSC Lille in their most recent fixture, in a blow to the French heavyweights ahead of their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.
PSG took on LOSC Lille in Ligue 1 and secured a 4-3 win over their opponents. Neymar Jr started for Paris Saint-Germain against Lille but was withdrawn in the 51st minute of the match. He was stretchered off the pitch after being on the receiving end of a challenge.
Neymar departed the field with a goal to his name as he sent PSG 2-0 up in the 17th minute after Kylian Mbappe had given them the lead in the 11th minute of the match. PSG would go on to concede three goals before two late goals from Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi earned them all three points from the fixture.
Paris Saint-Germain have now provided a medical update on the Brazilian attacker after the injury he suffered during the game against LOSC Lille.

In their update on their official website, Paris Saint-Germain said Neymar underwent an MRI scan after he sprained his ankle during the game. The French club also confirms that the scan did not reveal any fracture. They also said a new ligament assessment would be carried out.
The extent of the injury is not confirmed just yet but is considered a doubt for Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich. He also remains a doubt for the two games PSG will play prior to the Bayern clash.

PSG will take on Marseille in Ligue 1 in their next fixture and will follow that up with a match against Nantes, also in the French top flight. The French heavyweights will then square off with Bayern in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie.
PSG suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in the first leg of the tie, which took place at Parc des Princes. A goal from Kingsley Coman helped Bayern Munich get the better of PSG in the first leg.
PSG head into the second leg, which will take place at Allianz Arena, will a one-goal deficit.
If Neymar is ruled out of the fixture, it would be a heavy blow to PSG’s hopes of turning the tie around.
