Real Madrid News: Thomas Tuchel Behind Former Premier League Manager to Replace Carlo Ancelotti Next Season

Thomas Tuchel is not the favourite to take over Real Madrid next season

Real Madrid could be set for a managerial change next season. Although Carlo Ancelotti last season won the Champions League and La Liga but he could be replaced next season. Los Blancos are second in La Liga, five points behind Barcelona.

While their performances have failed to impress as well. It looks like this season could be trophyless. Thus Ancelotti’s job is in danger for next season and he could be replaced next season.

Real Madrid have three managers on their list to replace the Italian. Zinedine Zidane, Thomas Tuchel and Mauricio Pochettino. Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is said to be the favorite to take the hot seat at Santiago Bernabeu.

However, according to Sport, Mauricio Pochettino is said to be ahead of Tuchel. Even Zinedine Zidane is said to be second to Pochettino. The Argentinian last managed Paris Saint Germain last season.

Both managers have managed Paris Saint Germain. However, it was Tuchel who led them to the Champions League final. Eventually, the German won the coveted trophy with Chelsea.

While Mauricio Pochettino spent a long time with Tottenham building a solid team. However,  he was unable to win anything with his Spurs team. He also reached the Champions League final only to be beaten by Liverpool.

Thus on paper, the German has a better CV than the Argentinian. However, the former Villarreal manager did fantastic work with a group of young players at Spurs. While Tuchel, despite winning the Champions League failed to build upon it.

Not only this Pochettino has been touted by Real Madrid for a long time. He was often linked to the Bernabeu when he was in the Premier League. With of them being free agents it remains to be seen how things pan out in the summer.

After leaving Real Madrid for the first team, the Frenchman came back within ten months. Los Blancos were unable to handle the transition and needed Zidane to steer the ship.

However, the following season he again left the club. It seems unlikely that he would want to return for a third stint anytime soon. Many reports have suggested that he wants to manage the French national team.

But Didier Deschamps has now extended his contract with the national team till 2026. He has also been linked with a return to Juventus. The Frenchman made a name for himself as a player with the Bianconeri.

The Italians are in a huge crisis presently. They had 15 points deducted due to financial fraud allegations. Massimiliano Allegri could leave next season as well. Thus Zidane might go back to Allianz Stadium next season.
