Real Madrid seems to be already thinking of next season. They haven’t been able to challenge Barcelona in La Liga. Even Atletico Madrid are ahead of him in La Liga now. Thus the Champions League and Copa Del Rey are the only viable trophies for them.
In the midst of this, they are already closing on signing Jude Bellingham. Now they have been given a chance to Dusan Vlahovic. According to AS, Real Madrid have been presented with the opportunity to sign the Serbian international.
The report further states that Juventus are willing to part ways with the Serbian for a fee of €100 million. However, it remains to be seen whether Los Blanocs will be willing to offer that kind of money for the Juve striker.
He was one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe during his time in Fiorentina. Thus Juve decided to spend big at 23 years old. However, he hasn’t been able to replicate the same form. Some have cited Massimiliano Allegri’s defensive tactics as reasons behind it.
Why does Real Madrid need a striker?
Real Madrid have been largely relying on Karim Benzema for goals this season. While Vinicius Junior has contributed to goals but he can’t be solely relied upon by the Spanish giants. Other attackers haven’t really helped their cause as well.
Marcos Asensio and Eden Hazard are no longer the players they once used to be. Mariano Diaz has barely featured for Real Madrid since his arrival. Only Rodrgyo has managed to add productively to the front line.
While Vinicius Junior and Rodrgyo are very young but Karim Benzema will be 36 years old next season. Although he will fit but age is catching up with the Frenchman. Thus Real Madrid are in need of a desperate new number nine.
The obvious choices will be Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe. However, signing anyone of them next season seems unlikely. This is largely due to the finances required to sign either of them.
Real Madrid marquee signing Jude Bellingham
It looks like Los Blancos wants to do business early in the transfer window. Last season they quickly signed Antonio Rudiger and Aurélien Tchouaméni. The German signed on a free transfer while the Frenchman was signed for a fee of €80 million.
The duo were signed early in the transfer window. Thus Real Madrid managed to fend off competition for the duo. Now it is reported that they are very close to securing Jude Bellingham next season.
The Englishman has been heavily linked with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City as well. But now it looks like he will be heading to the Santiago Bernabeu. With his signature, Real Madrid could establish a strong base in the midfield.
With Bellingham, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Federico Valverde, and Eduardo Camavinga the transition from Toni Kross, Luka Modric, and Casemiro will be smooth.
