In the previous decade, Marcelo was the first choice left back for the club. However, he wasn’t at his best in the last few years of his career. Thus in 2018, Real Madrid signed Ferland Mendy.

Initially, the Frenchman gave good competition to Marcelo. However, due to constant injuries, he wasn’t able to cement a place for himself in the first team. Now, Real Madrid are in a phase of transition. They are again looking to bring in young players.

Thus now Real Madrid wants to sign Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies. Last season as well Mendy wasn’t at his best. The likes of Nacho Fernandez and Eduardo Camavinga would often deputize for him.

Due to these reasons, it is no wonder that Real Madrid transfer news have mentioned a possible signing of a new left-back. While Fran Garcia is also likely to arrive next season. However, that will not deter Real Madrid to pursue the Bayern Munich left-back.

Despite all his attributes at times has been injury prone. He was also diagnosed with a heart injury and he feared that he might never play football again. The Candian was diagnosed with this heart condition in the year 2022 which kept him out for a long time.

However, he has now recovered from the said condition. The Bayern Munich left-back is valued at around €77.8M. It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid will pay such high fees or not. Also, Los Blancos might try to sign him on a free transfer like his former teammate David Alaba.
