Thiago Silva has revealed he would love to see Carlo Ancelotti become the next permanent manager of Brazil’s national football team.
Brazil are currently without a permanent manager after previous manager Tite stepped down from the position following the end of the FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign. Brazil headed into Qatar 2022 as one of the favourites to lift the title but were knocked out of the competition by Croatia in the quarter-finals.
Carlo Ancelotti has been heavily linked with the job of Brazil national football team at the end of the current season. Ancelotti, who is the current manager of Real Madrid, however, has distanced himself from the Brazil manager role.
Despite the speculations linking with him the role of Brazil manager, Carlo Ancelotti has insisted he wants to stay at Real Madrid beyond the end of the current season. Ancelotti reportedly has a contract that runs until 2024 with Real Madrid.

Thiago Silva: I would love the next Brazil manager to be Carlo Ancelotti
Rumours refuse to die down despite Carlo Ancelotti reiterating his desire to stay at Real Madrid beyond the current campaign. Brazil’s international and Real Madrid star Vinicius Jr recently said he wants Ancelotti to train him on both sides.
Brazilian Football Federation president Ednaldo Rodrigue told Reuters last month that Carlo Ancelotti is not only the players’ favourite to become the next Brazil manager but also the fans’.
Thiago Silva is the latest to express he would love Carlo Ancelotti to become the Brazil manager. The Chelsea defender told TJ Sports USA [via 90min]: “Being honest, I would love it to be him, because of the friendship we have and the understanding. He was my first coach in Europe, at Milan. What he has done throughout his career shows he is ready.”
“I don’t know if I’ll be a part of the Brazil team, but I’d love him to accept the offer and make the team play the way he wants football to be played.”
Meanwhile, Thiago Silva’s Chelsea and Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid will meet at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League quarter-final second leg next week. Real Madrid brushed aside Chelsea with a 2-0 win at Santiago Bernabeu in the first leg.
Thiago Silva and co. have a herculean task at hand of overturning a two-goal deficit against Real Madrid, who are the defending Champions League winners.
