Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has hailed Real Madrid, the club he plays for, as the best club in the world.
Thibaut Courtois has been playing for Real Madrid ever since signing for the Spanish behemoths in the summer transfer window of 2018. Real Madrid signed him from Premier League side Chelsea.
Apart from Chelsea and Real Madrid, Thibaut Courtois has also plied his trade for Los Blancos’ city rivals Atletico Madrid. While he considers himself lucky to have played for great teams like Chelsea and Atletico Madrid, he believes Real Madrid are the best club in the world.
“I am lucky to have played for great teams like Atleti and Chelsea, but Real Madrid is the best club in the world. Wherever you go, everyone recognizes you, and congratulates you if you have just won a title. It is another level,” Thibaut Courtois said in an interview with Vanity Fair.

Thibaut Courtois added: “He demands a lot from you, but he is a great president. He has achieved it all. It’s not like we send each other WhatsApp (laughs), but we talk before and after the games. In the box, he always comes to chat with Mishel [Courtois’ partner], with the families of the other players.”
Meanwhile, Thibaut Courtois suffered a minor strain in his adductor during international duty with Belgium. As a result, Belgium confirmed he has returned to Real Madrid for precautionary reasons.
Thibaut Courtois is Real Madrid’s first-choice goalkeeper, and the La Liga heavyweights will be hoping the Belgian’s injury is not serious.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, remains in contention on all three fronts. However, in La Liga, they stand little chance of winning the title with Barcelona currently enjoying a 12-point lead over Real Madrid.
In Copa del Rey, Real Madrid are on the back foot after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Barcelona in the semi-final first leg. Real Madrid have to turn the tie around in the second leg if they want to seal their place in the final. In the Champions League, Real Madrid will face Chelsea in the quarter-finals.
