Xabi Alonso is the favourite to become the next Real Madrid manager if Carlo Ancelotti parts ways with the Spanish club next year.
Carlo Ancelotti embarked on his second Real Madrid stint in 2021 and the Spanish behemoths have been largely impressive under the tutelage of the Italian on his return to the club.
Real Madrid won the La Liga and Champions League titles in the 21/22 season but endured a rather underwhelming campaign in the 22/23 season. Carlo Ancelotti and co. finished second in La Liga, behind Barcelona last season. They also lost to Manchester City in the Champions League semi-final last season.
Despite that below-par 22/23 season, Carlo Ancelotti remains as the Real Madrid manager. But his current contract with Real Madrid expires in 2024. That means he is now in the final year of his contract with the La Liga heavyweights.
