FC Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has hailed Manchester City as the best team in the world and says it would be fair if the Premier League giants win the treble this season.
Manchester City remain in contention for three different trophies this season. Pep Guardiola and Co. sit atop the Premier League table, have qualified for the FA Cup final, and are in the semi-final of the Champions League.
In Premier League, Manchester City enjoys a one-point lead over second-placed Arsenal while also having a game in hand over the Gunners. Meanwhile, in the FA Cup final it is a Manchester derby as Manchester City will square off with Manchester United for the title. In the Champions League, Man City will take on defending champions Real Madrid for a place in the final of the competition.
Speaking to reporters, Xavi admitted it would be fair if Manchester City win the treble this season. He also said Manchester City have the best manager in the world, Pep Guardiola.

Xavi: Manchester City are the best team in the world right now
“Of course, it would [be fair]. In my opinion, they are the best team in the world right now. They have the best manager in the world and the quality of football they play is a mirror for us to look up to,” Xavi told reporters [via GOAL].
If Manchester City secures the treble this season, they will become the first English side since neighbours Manchester United to do so.
However, the treble is far from secured for Man City. The Premier League title race is not over just yet although the destiny of the trophy is now in the hands of Man City.
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has vowed to give everything to defeat Manchester City in the FA Cup final and prevent them from winning the treble. The last time the two sides met, it was Manchester United who emerged triumphant. The Red Devils defeated Man City 2-1 in the Premier League in January this year.
In the Champions League, Manchester City have to get the better of Real Madrid, who knocked them out of the competition last season.
Meanwhile, under Xavi’s tutelage, Barcelona have already won the Spanish Super Cup title this season. They lead the race for the La Liga title and will be aiming to win it.
