GTA VI has been all the heat ever since the rumors started floating up on the internet. Now, to be honest, there have been no official announcements. And it is likely that there won’t be any for quite a few years. Why? We will be talking about the reasons later in the article.
As of right now, Rockstar Games is benefitting hugely from GTA V and GTA Online. Hundreds of millions of people are actively engaging with these games. And the interaction is not only limited to PCs.
And with all the great reception of Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar has its employees busy day in day out. In 2018, the Kotaku report from Schreier showed how employees were overworked and unbelievably spent at Rockstar.
After coming under fire, Rockstar Games started taking better care of their employees. As a result, you can expect GTA VI to take its sweet time coming out. Recently, Tom Henderson, a leaker primarily known for Battlefield and Call Of Duty gave some details. Now, these leaks can be taken with a grain of salt, but there has to be some truth to them. So without further ado, here is all we know from the leaks about GTA VI.
Release Date
According to Henderson, it is too optimistic to expect the game in the next 3 years. So all those rumors stating that the game will probably drop in or around 2022 are wrong. It is likely that the game will take at least four years in the making. So it is safest to assume it dropping around 2024-2025.
Since Rockstar is taking it easy on the employees, the work is also slower. And we think it’s just fine for the employees to have better mental and physical health. Especially since the previous GTA games are just as entertaining as any.
Characters And Setting
Henderson added to the rumor of Vice City returning in GTA VI. However, he also said that the setting of the game will be modern. This goes against the rumors of a possible 90s theme returning in GTA VI. The reason is simple. Because GTA V and GTA Online have had much success with modern settings. It only makes sense to keep expanding the universe in the same light.
Other than that, leaks suggest that GTA VI will have multiple playable characters just like GTA V. In fact, it’s rumored that it will have a playable female character. Leaks suggest that this character will be a hacker and an essential character in the overall storyline.
Other Details
If Henderson is to be believed, GTA VI will likely have an evolving map. Just like Fortnite, the map will spawn new locations and have new themes over time. It will also have a host of events and possibly a battle pass. Though the latter is a far-off shot, it is still possible.
Interestingly, it could also have some sort of in-game cryptocurrency involved. Of course, this will only be in-game and can’t be used for transactions outside. Henderson states repeatedly that all the leaks are to be taken with a grain of salt since he is not known for leaking GTA. However, all his leaks are definitely intriguing.
