IND VS PAK: On August 28, Dubai will host the Asia Cup 2022 match between India and Pakistan. Along with the qualifying team, India and Pakistan are grouped together in group A. Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
The squads have been made public by both boards. Both sides have selected strong squads that include returning veterans. India will be led by Rohit Sharma, and Pakistan will be led by Babar Azam.
KL Rahul and Virat Kohli have rejoined the Indian team. Shaheen Afridi was also a member of the Pakistani team that humiliated India in the T20 World Cup last year. The 15-person Indian team was selected by the BCCI with the understanding that a similar side would also be selected for the T20 World Cup in 2022.
Their success in this Asia Cup will be important and a major factor in their selection for the international competition. A handful of them will definitely be in the starting XI for the encounter against Pakistan, while the selection of a few others is in doubt.

1. Ravichandran Ashwin
Ravichandran Ashwin may be forced to miss the IND vs. PAK match. Ashwin would find it challenging to make the starting XI as the third spinner with Ravindra Jadeja and Yuzvendra Chahal chosen as specialist spinners. India may start the game with five specialist bowlers and Hardik Pandya as a sixth bowling option. Ashwin was a member of the Indian T20I team during the West Indies series. In the series, he was costly and had a low stature.
Cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin represents India internationally. He was born on September 17, 1986. Although he is a right-handed batsman and right-arm off-break bowler who competes for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League and Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket. However, in terms of innings played, he is the Indian bowler with the fastest 50, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, and 400 wicket totals (and according to some statistics, the joint-fastest in the world). Meanwhile, he was the third Indian to receive the ICC Cricketer of the Year award in 2016. He is currently the highest-ranked spinner in Test cricket. And the highest-ranked Test bowler for India on the ICC Player Rankings. He is regarded as one of the best spin bowlers of his time.
2. Deepak Hooda
Deepak Hooda might not be in the XI now that India’s top three are practically decided, as Surykumar Yadav might just push him out for the spot. The rest of the Indian batting order appears to be in order. Due to his 360-degree play, SKY could be able to defeat Hooda. The fact that India already has six bowling options may work against the middle-order batsman’s chances of making the starting XI.

Indian cricketer Deepak Jagbir Hooda, who was born on April 19, 1995, represents his country on the international stage. In domestic cricket, he represents Rajasthan and Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League. While he is an all-rounder who bowls right-arm off break and bats right-handed. In February 2022, he made his debut for India abroad.
Hooda was selected for the Indian team’s Twenty20 International (T20I) series against Sri Lanka in November 2017. He was selected for the Indian Twenty20 International (T20I) team in February 2018 for the 2018 Nidahas Trophy, but he did not participate. Hooda was also selected to play for India in the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in December.
3. Avesh Khan
In the series against the West Indies, Avesh bowled superbly, although he was not as effective as Arshdeep Singh. While, the roster consists of just three pacers, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh expected to be the top two. While the inclusion of Mohammed Shami and Mohammad Siraj in the roster by Avesh stunned former Indian cricket analysts.
He was chosen as one of India’s five net bowlers in the Test team for their series against England in January 2021. Avesh was also included in India’s Test squad in May 2021 as one of four standby players for the 2019–2021 ICC World Test Championship final and they’re away series against England.
He was included in India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) team for their series against New Zealand in November 2021. Meanwhile, Khan was included in the ODI and T20I teams for India’s home series against the West Indies in January 2022. He was included in India’s T20I team for their series against Sri Lanka the following month. On February 20, 2022, against the West Indies, he played in his first T20I match for India. Whoever, in the final T20I match against Sri Lanka, Khan recorded his first T20I wicket, ending with statistics of 2/23 in his four overs.
