Serie A giants are on high alert after Lazio put their star player Luis Alberto on the transfer list. AC Milan, Inter Milan, and Juventus are now showing strong interest in Spanish attacking midfielder. Spanish side Villareal are also interested to bring former Liverpool man Alberto back to La Liga.
Newly crowned Italian Champions Inter Milan recently hired Simone Inzaghi as their new manager. Alberto enjoyed his best form under the Italian tactician. Inzaghi will be interested in making his first signing at San Siro in the form of a former player.
But according to the FootballItalia report, Inter face stiff competition from the league against and rivals AC Milan and Juventus. AC Milan had a great last season where they finished second in the league. Manager Stefano Pioli is now looking to bolster his squad with a big signing to mount a title challenge this season.
Newly appointed Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri is also keeping tabs on the 28-year-old attacking midfielder. Alberto is also capable of playing in a wide attacking role and central midfield role. Allegri previously used his famous 3-5-3 formation at Turin and now looking to target Alberto who fits his formation nicely.
Liverpool to gain transfer boost with the sale of Alberto?
Luis Alberto had a disappointing spell with Premier League giants Liverpool until he joined Lazio in 2016. He also spent a year on loan with Malaga and Deportivo Coruna but failed to impress manager Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool sold him for just €4 million in 2016, and now the player has a transfer value of €45 million.
Liverpool have a sell-on clause of 30 percent included in Alberto contract with Lazio. Italian giants now value him around €60 million, and it seems realistic in the current transfer window. The Reds will gain a big chunk of that amount if sell goes through in this transfer window.
Liverpool are in good financial condition and currently looking to add more players to their big squad. Last season they had an impressive end, finishing third in the Premier League with most of centre-backs missing the entire season to injuries.
Liverpool will be looking to target a new central midfielder in this transfer window. They lost Georginio Wijnaldum to Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer. They are looking to use funds from Alberto sell to sign their targets Saul Niguez and Milenkovic-Savic.
Alberto missing training?
Luis Alberto is keen on leaving Lazio in this transfer window. Lazio hired Maurizio Sarri recently who prefers wide attacking midfielders instead of the central one. He played 3-5-3 formation at Chelsea where he failed to utilize central attacking players Ross Barkley, Matteo Kovacic, and Mason Mount.
Alberto has reportedly missed the pre-season training camp on the third consecutive day. He has made up his mind and now keen on the exit at Stadio Olimpico. Sarri intends to keep their star player in Rome but now opens up on his thoughts on this situation recently.
“From a moral point of view, he must speak with me and with his teammates. And he must convince us about the reasons for his delay. “Otherwise, he will have to apologise to me and to the others. In my teams, there’s no death penalty for those who don’t respect the rules, but certain situations must still be clarified.”
According to the same report, Milan and Juventus are aware of the rift between manager and player. Both teams are preparing to offer player exchange deal for the Spanish international. Milan are ready to exchange captain Alessio Romagnoli and Juventus are ready to part ways with Federico Bernardeschi.
