Juventus Can Sell Weston McKennie to Get Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Juventus can sell Weston McKennie to get Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Serie-A giants Juventus can reportedly get rid of Weston Mckennie to land one of their prime targets Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

After starting his football journey in the academy of Grazer AK, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic became a part of the youth setup of Vojvodina. Milinkovic-Savic then soon rose through the ranks and graduated from Vojvodina academy. After his graduation, he was promoted to the main team where he played only one season.

He won the Serbian Cup with Vojvodina and then joined the Belgian team Genk. In Genk, Milinkovic-Savic gradually continued his development. The Serbian stayed one season with the club and made 24 appearances in the league.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic signed for Italian club Lazio at the start of the 2015/16 season. He soon not only became one of the most important players on their squad but also established himself as one of the best players in the whole division. He has helped Lazio to win one Coppa Italia and two Supercopa Italiana titles so far. Milinkovic-Savic has already made over 250 appearances for the Italian club.

Juventus can sacrifice Mckennie for Milikovic-Savic

Throughout the last few years, Sergej Milinkovi-Savic has been rumoured with many big clubs. However, a move to a bigger club has never happened so far.

Now his contract with Lazio is coming to an end in the next couple of years. So looking at this situation Lazio’s Serie-A rivals Juventus are keeping an eye on him.

The midfielder is currently valued at €120 million by his club Lazio and according to their president, they will listen to offers that exceed €100 million.

After a decade of dominance in the Serie-A Juventus is currently going through a transition period. The Binaconeri have won only three of their first nine Serie-A matches. They are currently struggling in eighth place in the table with thirteen points.

To put more context into it Juventus lost three of their first four UEFA Champions League groups stage matches for the first time in their history. This also includes a humiliating loss against Israeli club Maccabi Haifa.

Juventus management understands the situation very well. They perfectly know that their team will require more quality signings in order to compete in Serie-A. Hence they have targeted multiple players with Serge Milinkovic-Savic being one of the prime targets for them.

Juventus will not be able to sign the midfielder before selling one of their own own. So according to TuttoJuve, they are ready to sacrifice Weston McKennie to prepare a bid for the Serbian.

Mckennie arrived in Turin during the 2020/21 season. The American however has not lived up to his potential so far. It is believed that he has a lot of suitors in the Bundesliga and can easily give them decent money.

Now, signing Milinkovic-Savic will not be an easy task for them. But if they manage to get him, it will be a big boost for them.
