Juventus news: Paul Pogba is among the most talented midfielders of his generation.
He returned to the Turin outfit this summer after spending six seasons with Manchester United. Pogba has played 154 Premier League games during his time at Old Trafford, scoring 29 goals.
The France international helped the Red Devils win the EFL Cup in 2016-17. He won the 2016-17’s UEFA Europa League Player of the Season accolade and was also included in the PFA Premier League Team of the Season 2016-17.
Pogba is also a key member of the French national team. He was part of the squad that lifted the FIFA World Cup in 2018.
Paul Pogba’s agent provides an update on his injury
The Frenchman’s agent Rafaela Pimenta has announced Pogba’s return from an injury.
Speaking to the media, he said: “The nightmare is finally over. Pogba will be Juventus’ new leader very soon.”
The 29-year-old midfielder suffered a knee injury during a pre-season friendly in July. He is yet to feature in a competitive game for the Turin-based club. His return will be a massive boost for Juventus and France ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
Tottenham linked with Leonardo Bonucci
According to Football Italia(via The Hard Tackle), Tottenham Hotspur is interested in signing Juventus captain Leonardo Bonucci. The Italy international is currently unhappy at the Allianz Stadium and has asked to be sold in January.
Bonucci is currently among the best defenders in Serie A. He rejoined Juventus for his second spell at AC Milan in 2018. The Italy international has played 120 league games since rejoining the Turin outfit, scoring 14 goals.
The 35-year-old stopper helped the Bianconeri win nine Scudettos, four Coppa Italias, and five Supercoppa Italiana. He won 2015-16’s Serie A Football of the Year and was also included in the Serie A Team of the Season four times.
His signing would be a massive boost for the Spurs, who are looking to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
What’s next?
Juventus have endured a difficult start to the season, winning just four of their opening 10 games in the league. They are currently 10 in the Serie A table, 10 points behind leaders Napoli.
The Turin-based club will next lock horns against Empoli in the league on October 22. Pogba is unlikely to feature in the game.
