Juventus Transfer News: Saul Niguez, a former Chelsea flop, has emerged as a candidate to replace Paul Pogba, who suffered an injury. Juventus is already taking action to replace the Frenchman.
After departing Manchester United at the end of the previous season, Pogba inked a four-year contract with the Serie A powerhouse. He was slated to be one of Juventus’ marquee acquisitions for the summer. However, less than a month after announcing his return, he suffered a significant setback.
Juve announced earlier this week that he had torn his meniscus. This will keep him from travelling to Dallas for their preseason game.
Paul Pogba had radiological testing after complaining of pain in his right knee, and the results showed a lateral meniscus lesion. He will receive an orthopedic specialist consultation in the coming hours, the club announced.

Massimiliano Allegri now needs to find a replacement for the 29-year-old as he faces a prolonged length of time off in light of that information. Saul, who spent last season on loan at Chelsea from Atletico Madrid, has reportedly moved to the top of their list of priorities.
He struggled through his time at Stamford Bridge. However, as they look to reduce their payroll, Atletico is still eager to offload the midfielder.
Saul had earlier this summer reportedly been offered to Roma, according to El Larguero via Calciomercato. The La Liga team instead offered him to Juve as a replacement for Pogba, but that offer was declined.
According to reports, Juventus is thinking about going back to the market to find a midfield replacement. Saul has four years left on his Atletico Madrid contract. Because of this, a loan rather than a permanent move is regarded to be the more likely scenario.
After his disastrous loan stint in the Premier League, Saul had returned to Atletico at the start of preseason. Although he only played 10 times in the Premier League, he believed that his time at Chelsea had been beneficial.
What did Saul say?
“I am mentally prepared for it, eager to get home, and looking forward to it. I genuinely want to see my teammates and the coach. I think it was a wonderful experience for me to go out at a time when I wasn’t feeling well psychologically, despite the fact that I didn’t have the necessary minutes.”
“This season has helped me to improve in many aspects; I have learned a lot and that will be useful for this new season. I can only be grateful to all the people at Chelsea for their trust.
“I am conscious that I just finished a loan in which I only played a little number of minutes. I will need to put in a lot of effort, perseverance, and sacrifice to earn a spot on the squad.
“It goes without saying that I will approach this with a great deal of humility. I am planning to work with and support the team in whatever way I can, regardless of where I play. Despite having a challenging year, I really want to demonstrate how it has been beneficial for me to develop.
