Jurgen Klopp is looking to make new attacking additions to his side to give a push to their title hopes.
According to Portuguese outlet O Jogo, Liverpool is interested in landing the Benfica star forward Raul Jiminez at Anfield in a whopping £50m deal.
The Merseyside club still hasn’t found an able replacement for Luis Suarez.
Arguably, Liverpool’s first choice striker, Daniel Sturridge, has spent most of his time at the club on the sidelines with some injury or the other. Their other signings, the likes of Rickie Lambert, Danny Ings, Cristian Benteke and Divock Origi have totally failed to impress.
Jiminez has done quite well so far for the Portuguese club with 20 goals in 63 appearances since his arrival at the club in the summer of 2015.
The Mexican has racked up 8 goals in 18 matches so far this season and would be willing to move at the end of the season for a bigger challenge giving the Reds a glimmer of hope.

Roberto Firmino, who is not seen as an out and out striker by Liverpool manager has been in absolutely phenomenal form with 6 goals and 3 assists so far this season and has formed a great attacking trio with Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane.
Sadio Mane, who also has racked up 9 goals and 4 assists and has been a major force behind Liverpool’s resurgence this season is also going to huge miss for the Merseyside club as the Senegalese international is ready to join with his national side for Africa cup of nations.
Jurgen Klopp would be willing to spend to get Jiminez in January if possible to give a push to Liverpool’s title challenge, if not, then the former Borussia Dortmund manager will be ready to get the Mexican in summer.
Winner of the league and cup double last season with Benfica is being valued at £50m by the Portuguese giants which could prove to be a major setback in Liverpool’s pursuit of the 25 years old.
However, the Primeira Liga champions would be willing to negotiate if the player has made up his mind to leave the Portuguese outfit.
Interestingly, Liverpool is not the first club to show interest in the 25 years old Mexican international.
West Ham was ready to sign the striker and a move from Atletico Madrid were all confirmed in the summer of 2015.
But he failed to pass the medical as he missed his flight to English capital due to oversleeping.
Liverpool also has been linked heavily with Borussia Dortmund’s American sensation Cristian Pulisic of whom Jurgen Klopp is known to be a huge admirer, but the German club has denied any approach for their prized possession.
