Manchester City News: Pep Guardiola has been an instrumental manager for the Sky Blues. But the Spaniard is reportedly interested to sign a contract extension with the club for now and he has clarified his reason for the same. 

Having joined Manchester City in July 2016, Pep Guardiola has had a successful spell with the Premier League club. Owing to this, the Spaniard is highly respected and loved among the fans. 

Over the years, Guardiola has won three Premier League titles and he could add a possible fourth to it this season. The Sky Blues have dominated within England, winning every championship. But they have failed to conquer Europe as they have suffered heartbreaking losses on multiple occasions. 

However, Pep Guardiola is currently not interested in extending his stay at Manchester City. The Spaniard’s contract will expire in the summer of 2023. Hence it is possible that the City manager would decide to leave the club then.

Manchester City News: As per FanSided, Pep Guardiola is reportedly not looking to sign a new contract for now. The manager will reportedly wait until 2023 to make his decision. 

The City management has been quite happy with Pep Guardiola’s management. Hence they had offered him a contract extension. However, the Spaniard has reportedly declined their advances. 

The Manchester City manager was asked about his contract situation in a recent meeting. Hence, Guardiola clarified his situation and cleared up any speculation regarding his future. 

Pep Guardiola said, “I will decide in 2023. Before then, it’s not going to happen. It’s been many years and I have to see how the team and ourselves are together.”

The Spaniard also added that he would be willing to stay at City for the next 10 years. However, the Spaniard clarified that any decision regarding his future would be taken during the off-season break and not during the match weeks. 

Pep Guardiola is reportedly interested in managing a national team. The Spaniard has also been linked with the Netherlands, Brazil, Spain, and Argentina in recent months. Hence it is also possible that the Spaniard could move on to the next part of his career in the summer.

Manchester City News: Jurgen Klopp has recently signed a contract extension with Liverpool. Hence the German will now be staying as the Reds manager until 2026. 

Pep Guardiola shared a good relationship and heated rivalry with Jurgen Klopp. Both their teams are on an “elite level” of football at the moment. Hence the fans would certainly want Guardiola to stay as this would certainly continue in making the Manchester City-Liverpool rivalry a staple fixture in the Premier League.
