Manchester United News: Cristiano Ronaldo Makes a Promise After Winning PL Award!

Manchester United News: Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the best players for the Red Devils this season. The Portuguese has now made a promise to his supporters after picking up the Premier League April Player of the Month award.

The Red Devils have not had a good season by any standard. United got knocked out early from every cup competition. To add to this, they have also failed to finish in the top four in the Premier League.

But Cristiano Ronaldo along with David De Gea have arguably been two beacons on either end of the field. Without the duo, Manchester United would have had an even miserable season.

Ronaldo has popped up with important goals throughout the year. Hence it is quite certain that the Portuguese will keep the promise that he has made after winning his latest Premier League award.

Manchester United News: Cristiano Ronaldo put up a picture on social media after winning the April Player of the Month award. In the post, the Portuguese winger has put up a beautiful caption.

The 37-year-old wrote, “My second Premier League Player Of The Month Award, the 6th in my career. I’m as happy to win today as I was in my early days, the hunger for victory and achievements never fades away. Thanks to everyone that made this possible.”

Hence the Portuguese has promised his fans through his post that he would still keep striving to be the best. Usually, footballers lose the will to keep training in their late 30s. But this is certainly not the case with Ronaldo.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored 5 goals in 4 games to win the Premier League’s Player of the Month award for April. This included a hattrick against Norwich City and a goal apiece against Chelsea and Arsenal.

The Manchester United star has scored a total of 24 goals in 38 games this season. Of these, 18 goals were scored in the Premier League while 6 were scored in the UEFA Champions League.

Though his stats have deteriorated a bit compared to the last season with Juventus, the Portuguese striker is still going strong at the age of 37. In fact, Cristiano Ronaldo had scored 18 Premier League goals in 2008/09, his final season with United before his departure to Real Madrid.

Will the Crystal Palace game be Ronaldo’s last one for United?

Manchester United News: The Red Devils face off against Crystal Palace on 22nd May in the last gameweek of the 2021/22 season. This could quite possibly be Cristiano Ronaldo’s last game for the club.

Rumours have suggested that incoming manager Erik Ten Hag does not want the 37-year-old at the club. To add to this, Manchester United will not be playing in the UEFA Champions League next season. Hence if other potential suitors line up, Ronaldo could leave the Red Devils in the summer transfer window.
