Manchester United News: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Rejected a Premier League club after Sacking!

Manchester United News: Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was the United manager to start the 2021/22 season. But the Norwegian was sacked midway through the season owing to under-par performances.

After finishing second in the Premier League last season, a lot was expected from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the 2021/22 season. The summer signings of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane, and Jadon Sancho boosted these expectations.

The Red Devils even started the 2021/22 campaign with a 5-1 win over Leeds United. Hence the Manchester United fans started dreaming of winning the Premier League.

But things took a turn for a worse midseason. The Red Devils completely lost the plot in the Premier League. This included a 5-0 loss to Liverpool and a 4-1 loss to Watford that eventually cost Ole Gunnar Solskjaer his job.

Manchester United News: As per The Sun, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had a chance to coach another Premier League team. He reportedly got this opportunity after getting sacked by the Red Devils.

According to the report, the former United manager was approached by an unnamed Premier League side following his Old Trafford exit. But Solskjaer reportedly turned down this opportunity at that time.

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure, Everton, Watford, Leeds United, and Burnley have had managerial changes. Hence it is speculated that the offer had come from one of these clubs.

All of the mentioned clubs are in threat of a possible relegation at the end of the season. Watford have already been relegated. Whereas any one of the other three could go down. Hence it would make sense why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer chose not to move to one of these clubs.

After the Norwegian’s departure, Manchester United moved on with Ralf Rangnick as their interim manager. But even the German tactician has not been able to turn things around for the Red Devils. Hence, United are set to miss out on next season’s UEFA Champions League as well.

Manchester United have since hired Erik Ten Hag to take over the club in the summer. The Ajax manager is on the brink of winning his third Eredivisie title. Hence a lot would be expected from the Dutchman at Old Trafford next season.

The Norwegian tactician had a decent record with the Red Devils. Hence he would even coach a non-Premier League side that is vying for a European spot. It has to be seen where Solskjaer would end up next season.
