In the 2014 summer window, Bakambu left Ligue 1 for the first time and made a move to Turkey’s Bursaspor after the club paid a fee of €1.8 million. the forward signed a four-year contract with an annual salary of €800,000.

But after one year, La Liga side Villareal signed him for an undisclosed fee. The Yellow Submarine signed him on a five-year contract. His time at La Liga was one of the best moments in his career.

He scored 32 goals in his 75 appearances for the La Liga club. On the final day of the Chinese transfer window in 2018, Beijing Sinobo Guoan paid the €40million release clause in Bakambu’s contract. The Congolese forward joined the Asian side and scored his first goal against Jiangsu Suning.

Bakambu joined Marseille in the January transfer window on a free transfer from the Chinese side Beijing Guoan. His time at Marseille is not that much impressive. The forward scored 4 goals and registered two assists in his 24 appearances for the Ligue 1 giant.

However, Marseille is going to run a new project under the new manager Igor Tudor. So, Bakambu has received a very limited 54 minutes of game time.
Bakambu has also been left out of the club’s squad for out of their 20-man Champions League squad.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Ramano, the deal between Marseille and Olympiacos is already in “Here we go!” status. He is set to sign a three-year deal with the Greek side, and this will be a permanent transfer.

Olympiacos has signed some big names like James Rodriguez, Marcelo, and Vrsaljko this summer. Cedric Bakambu is the latest and probably the final addition to their squad.

In the early days of the window, Marseille was demanding around €7 million, but no club came for him. Rumours were suggesting that Celta coach Eduardo Coudet was very eager to bring the Congolese forward to La Liga. But no deal happened then.

Marseille is desperate to offload the former Villareal man to free up some space on their wage bill. The French giant already brought the Colombian Luis Suárez and Alexis Sánchez to their squad.

The former Sochaux man will link up with another former Marseille man, Mathieu Valbuena in Greece.
