The KTM rider Jack Miller tops the timesheets after two practice sessions on Friday at Le Mans. The Australian completed the race in 1:30.950 seconds. Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia finished P2 in second place with a time of 1:31.069, and Marco Bezzecchi of Ducati took third place with a time of 1:31.150.
After a challenging morning practice, Fabio Quartararo and Marc Marquez placed outside the top 10. Marquez faltered in both sessions, but he performed well enough to get to Q2.
Quartararo was 12th despite finishing half a second faster than Franco Morbidelli, another member of the Yamaha squad, while Marquez placed 10th.
Eight-time world champion Marquez tumbled in the first 15 minutes of his comeback to Repsol Honda, losing the front at Turn 11 in P1. He was taking part in his first MotoGP sessions since injuring his thumb in an accident with Miguel Oliveira in the season-opener in Portimao. He crashed his motorbike late on Turn 9 while in P2.
Espargaro, Franco Morbidelli, Lorenzo Savadori, Joan Mir, Augusto Fernandez, and Alex Marquez all experienced crashes in the first 15 minutes of the Le Mans race due to the windy conditions. Espargaro appeared to be experiencing a technical issue as well after exiting the pits.

When Brad Binder went fastest to initially form a KTM one-two, Quartararo, one of the first to begin a time attack in P2, fell to sixth on the time sheets.

Before attempting a time attack, reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia was 17th quickest in the afternoon session. He finished seventh in his final run to secure a spot in the second round.
The remaining top ten drivers were Jorge Martin (fourth), Johann Zarco (fifth), Maverick Vinales (sixth), Brad Binder (seventh), Marc Marquez (eighth), and Alex Marquez (tenth).
