In the final minutes of the second quarter of the game between the Orlando Magic and the Detroit Pistons, Moe Wagner and Killian Hayes rocked Little Caesars Arena. The two players’ altercation near the Pistons’ bench brought to mind a notorious incident from almost two decades ago.
The altercation began when Hayes, who was ferociously pursuing a lost ball, was body-checked by Moe Wagner into the bench. Immediately pushing the Magic into the arms of the Pistons players and coaching staff, Hamidou Diallo did so.
After standing up angrily, Killian Hayes chased after Moe Wagner. He delivered a covert blow to Moe Wagner’s back of the head, appearing to knock the German international unconscious.
There was a lot of pushing and yelling, but nobody from the opposing sides punched anybody other. Numerous Orlando Magic players flocked to the site of the disturbance to protect Moe Wagner. This may result in an immediate suspension for those who were involved in the brawl.
Knowing what had transpired in 2004 between the Detroit Pistons and the Indiana Pacers, the arena announcer frequently and firmly urged everyone to remain seated. Thankfully, the spectators maintained their composure despite the fact that players and coaching personnel from both teams were involved in the altercation.
The Magic players responded to the incident right away by rushing to the teammate’s help. As both sides joined the melee, tensions rose between Killian Hayes and Moe Wagner.
As the combative exchange grabbed control of the game, Little Caeser’s Arena in NBA exploded. Some people who were watching the game live-tweeted their opinions about the brawl.
