“I Would Love to Help The,”- Former NBA Champion Dwight Howard Wishes for an NBA Return to Contest for Championship

Dwight Howard Wishes for an NBA Return

Former NBA superstar Dwight Howard announced his desire to NBA return to the game in an interview with The Observer on Tuesday. Howard was 37 years old when he played for the Taoyuan Leopards in Taiwan the previous season. He trounced the competition while there, scoring 23.2 points and 16.2 rebounds per game.

In 2021–2022, the future Hall of Famer played his final NBA season with the Lakers, when he was mostly employed as a reserve player and averaged less than seven points per game. During the 2019–2020 preseason with the Los Angeles Lakers, Dwight Howard earned his first and only championship. He was also selected to the All-Star Game eight times and was voted defensive player of the year three times.

Even though I have not yet formally retired from the NBA, I aim to assist the Sacramento Kings as they contend for a championship.

Dwight Howard asserted that he was not surprised by the Kings’ success and praised Mike Brown for requiring the Kings’ players to sign “all-in” contracts in the offseason. Howard also expressed satisfaction with the king’s success. In addition, he indicated that he believed the roster was “pretty much set.”

Should the Sacramento Kings prioritize signing Dwight Howard as a free agent? The Kings just had a terrific season, and given the misery that the franchise’s supporters have endured over the previous 17 years, it’s as if a new organization has been established.

If the Kings want to be the first team in NBA history to win the championship, they may not need to add Dwight Howard to their roster, even though Howard will undoubtedly be elected into the Hall of Fame and was a dominant player during his heyday. Dwight may be past his prime and in his late years, but that does not mean he cannot be of assistance.

In addition to Steph Curry’s legendary level of brilliance, the Kings’ lack of postseason experience was a major factor in their collapse at the hands of the Warriors. The Kings may have made a wise decision in bringing in a seasoned veteran with more experience than any other player on the club and who has also won a title.

Dwight Howard looked to be aware that, even if he did not have a large impact on the court, he could still contribute to the team’s success by providing leadership and expertise. Because the team would need a backup center if Sabonis were to suffer an injury, he could be a solid option for the backup center position.

Is there any reason the Kings shouldn’t sign Dwight Howard to a one-year deal if the offseason doesn’t go as planned and there is still a roster spot available?
