Tyler Herro Establishes a Ludicrous NBA Record Against the Houston Rockets

Tyler Herro establishes a ludicrous NBA record against the Houston Rockets

Tyler Herro’s hot shooting continued against the Houston Rockets on Thursday. Herro outdid himself by establishing a ludicrous NBA record after making nine 3-point attempts the night before.

Tyler Herro recorded 41 points, a career-best, six rebounds, and two assists in the Miami Heat’s 111-108 victory against the Rockets. Tyler Herro also became the NBA’s youngest player to record at least 40 points, five rebounds, and ten 3-pointers.

According to ESPN, Herro was the fourth Heat player to make 10 shots beyond the arc. Duncan Robinson was the latest player to achieve the milestone in December 2019. Brian Shaw and Mario Chalmers were the first two Heat players to achieve it.

Tyler Herro informed reporters after the game that he had no intention of breaking any records. He was one 3-pointer away from matching the record last night, but hitting 10 was not on his mind on Thursday.

“I didn’t realize it was a record until last night when I reached nine and they stated I was one short,” Tyler Herro said. “I didn’t come in with the idea of tying the record; I was simply hoping to get threes up. I believe that shooting more three-pointers is beneficial.”

In the Heat’s last two games, the 22-year-old guard has been on fire. Tyler Herro tallied 35 points, three rebounds, and two assists in a 110-108 win against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. The 19 3-pointers made in a two-game span were the most in team history.

Will Tyler Herro make an All-Star team this year?

Miami has now won six of their previous ten games. With a 14-15 record, they are presently only one game under.500. The Heat, headed by Tyler Herro, are making their way back into contention. In their previous ten games, he has averaged 24.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 steals.

Herro is enjoying his finest season ever, averaging 21.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. The Miami Heat’s best scorer, ahead of Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, is the reigning Sixth Man of the Year. He’s also shooting a career-high 46.1% from the field and 41.6% from beyond the arc.

Tyler Herro might be an All-Star this season if he can maintain his productivity and efficiency while remaining healthy. The Heat will also need to improve their record if Herro hopes to win his first All-Star selection.
