Two clubs received fines from the NBA for breaking the rules regarding injury report procedures. The OKC Thunder are one of the two, according to reports.
The league requires an accurate injury report to be provided in advance for a number of reasons. Making the game fair so that the opposing team knows what to prepare for may be the most crucial of them.
But some clubs have broken that regulation, and the league hasn’t spent any time in fining them. The LA Clippers reportedly paid a punishment for failing to adequately disclose players who will be featured in a game, according to NBA PR.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, OKC has received a $25,000 punishment from the league.
Another NBA injury reporting penalty: the League fined the Thunder $25,000 for failing to accurately and promptly declare Josh Giddey’s availability on November 1 against the Magic.
On November 1, OKC and the Orlando Magic faced off. Josh Giddey participated in the game despite the league’s requirements that his availability is kept a secret.
Despite not scoring many points, Giddey had an influence on the game and contributed to his team’s victory. He had seven points, 10 rebounds, and an assist in the final tally.
The OKC Thunder are having a great start to their NBA season in 2022
OKC’s 2023 season has gotten off to a fantastic start. They have stunned the NBA community and could prosper going forward.
The Thunder have won four of their first seven games. Last season, they had just one victory to their credit at this point.
It has not been an easy journey for them to reach sixth place in the Western Conference standings. They have defeated several of the West’s heavyweights, including the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Clippers (twice each).
After dropping their first three games of the season, OKC has recovered amazingly. Despite their current five-game winning streak, they are not at their best right now.
Chet Holmgren had a foot injury in the off-season that will keep him out of action all season. The 2022 draft’s second pick was him.
While attempting to defend against LeBron James in a casual game, the youngster was hurt. Although they would have to wait a little longer, fans were eager to watch Holmgren perform.
