Argentine forward Lionel Messi is all set to make his comeback for Paris Saint-Germain in the upcoming Ligue 1 match against rivals Marseille.

Lionel Messi suffered an injury during PSG’s UEFA Champions League match against Benfica in Portugal. Before the injury, the Argentine forward scored a spectacular goal against the Portuguese team against the run of the play.

Messi left the field in the final minutes of the game which ended in a 1-1 draw. He then missed PSG’s next two outings against Stade De Reims and Benfica.

In the absence of Messi, PSG drew both matches. They were clearly missing something in the attacking third and it was obviously the creativity of the Argentine forward.

When the injury of Lionel Messi was reported, it was thought to be a very minor one, He was expected to make a comeback in the last Benfica match. This was later admitted by PSG manager Christophe Galtier.

So when Messi missed the Benfica match, people started to become more concerned about his injury. However, now good news has arrived.

According to the reports of RMC Sport that Lionel Messi is on the right track to recovering his calf injury before the upcoming Marseille match.

Although the Argentine superstar has not fully recovered yet, he is getting better by every day. Now, this is very hopeful news for PSG fans.

After a hard last season, Lionel Messi has started to blossom at the Parc des Princes in the ongoing campaign. The forward has already netted eight goals and provided eight assists so far. He has been arguably the best player for them and his availability is a big sigh of relief for the PSG fans.

A final decision on Lionel Messi will be taken on the next Saturday during a closed-door practice session.

The news is also very relieving for the Argentine fans. Lionel Messi will lead the Argentine team in the next Qatar World Cup 2022.

Messi has earlier revealed that it is going to be his last appearance in the biggest event of football. The Argentine is very determined to win his first World Cup and bring the trophy back to Argentina.

He will now hope to return to his pre-injury form and arrive at the World Cup in his best possible condition.
